The Internal Budgets division contributes to the achievement of the financial management goals of the Department. The division is comprised of a diverse range of staff and fulfils the internal budget management process, including financial coordination, reporting and the supporting management accounting systems, portfolio planning for current and forward years and determining funding for the individual branches/divisions within the Department.

Working within the Management Accounting Systems Section, you will work to develop and administer the Department’s Budget Management System which is based on IBM Cognos TM1 (TM1) software. This will include assisting in the design, testing and implementation of system enhancements and providing user training on system functionality. Applicants must have a high attention to detail and sound research and analytical ability.

Key Duties

• Assist in the ongoing development, testing and maintenance of the Budget Management System to support the management accounting function.
• Maintain and develop reports and templates that interface with TM1.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the Department.
• Manage and mentor junior staff.
• Document procedures, processes and system enhancements.

Mandatory skills and qualifications:

• Experience in the development and administration of TM1 applications in a management accounting environment.
• Accounting qualifications or progress towards completion of tertiary accounting qualifications or extensive experience in a management accounting environment.

Additional Information

• Experience with SAP would be an advantage.
• Experience working within a management accounting team or practical knowledge of budgeting and forecasting methodologies would be a high advantage.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel would be a high advantage.
