Grace Cottage is part of a women's out-client service as part of our Bridge Program, supporting AOD clients. You will work with warm supportive co-workers in an industrial environment focussed on employee support and care, through a professional and multi disciplinary team and other agencies. You will facilitate the assessment, intake, provide one to one support, referral, educational/recreational support and case management activities for participants/residents, develop and monitor Individual Treatment Plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures. Essential Requirements and Experience - A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army and an ability to offer pastoral assistance
- Tertiary or other qualifications within the Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services or Social Work sectors or similar discipline, or extensive relevant experience in AOD work
- Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviour, violence and problems associated with substance abuse and psychiatric conditions
- First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver's licence
- Imperative that the incumbent maintains an Alcohol, Drug and Gambling free presence at all times.
- Solid level of experience (minimum 2+ years) in the implementation of case management and systems for disadvantaged and/or complex needs participants.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and Other Faiths
- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations to develop and tailor programs to meet participants' needs.
- Desirable that the successful applicants have an understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing substance use disorders, mental ill health and other disabilities.
