Design & Build have an urgent requirement for a Technical Officer to work for a council located in south west Melbourne on a temporary basis for the next three months.  Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Maintenance, the successful candidate will be tasked with assisting in the inspection of councils infrastructure assets, including; roads, kerb & channel, car parks, drains, lanes, paths, street furniture, bridges and retaining walls. 
 
Duties will include but not limited to:
• Daily on site inspections and compiling condition reports on various council assets
• Prioritise works and liaise with relevant contractors
• Evaluate, coordinate and approve applications for vehicle crossings, road occupancies, traffic management plans and work zones
• Monitor and respond to 'Dial Before You Dig' requests
• Liaise with Public Authorities
 
Requirements include:
• Experience within a similar role, ideally local government
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Victorian driving license
