This role will be responsible for reviewing, developing and implementing Strategic Asset Management Plans for buildings and infrastructure. As a senior member of the Management Team, the successful candidate will contribute to broader management initiatives and strategies including customer service, strategic planning and change management. 
The Successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Strategic Asset Management Framework including, methodologies, policies, and guidelines for asset planning, capital investment strategies, asset disposal, and maintenance management. The role also integrates strategic and operational planning and delivery of maintenance through the Planning and Development team and the Operations team for programmed maintenance. 
To be considered for this role, you will need to address the following Selection Criteria; 
  1. Demonstrated expertise in the asset management process both strategic and operational including policy and strategy development, asset condition assessment, asset valuation, asset management systems (e.g. services management, maintenance etc) and lifecycle modeling tools.  
  2. Experience in Strategic Planning, risk and asset management including the development and implementation of a Strategic Asset Management Plan and other Building Maintenance Plans.  
  3. Experience in staff management including the planning of staff and resources, review of performance, mentoring, change management and leadership skills and a sound understanding of organizational behavior and ability to effectively lead and motivate a team to obtain high quality outcomes.  
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written in a professional manner including highly developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to seek information from a range of people and disciplines such as financial, engineering, architectural, mechanical and electrical.  
  5. Understanding of legislative requirements and ability to interpret the various Standards, Codes and Acts relating to the role.  
  6. Knowledge of current trends and recent developments in the building industry and in the practices of asset management.  
  7. Demonstrated skill and competency in analytical and problem solving in technical, operational, organizational and administrative tasks, including ability to generate information and produce reports that inform ongoing decision making in relation to planning and development of built assets.  
  8. Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications and substantial experience in relevant areas (facility/asset management, engineering or construction) in a large complex multi-disciplinary environment.  
  9. Experience in resource and financial management, the development of strategic and operational plans, providing expert customer service and advice to clients and stakeholders.
